(Baonghean) -After being recognized as the first Traditional Incense Craft Village in 2009 for Block 2, Tan Lac Town (Quy Chau), the Provincial People's Committee has now decided to recognize 4 more craft villages, including the incense production craft in Quy Chau. To assist and advise the incense craft to continue to develop, in June 2012, the Incense Making Association and the Executive Board of the Incense Production Cooperative in Tan Lac Town were established and launched.

After stabilizing the organization and operation, the Association and the Cooperative Management Board represented 98 incense production households in the area to prepare a dossier to submit to the Department of Intellectual Property for consideration of recognition of the brand, origin and logo for the product and the profession of making incense in Quy Chau. Based on the review, the Department of Intellectual Property basically agreed and issued a document guiding the supplement of the dossier to issue a decision on recognition in the coming time.

Quy Chau incense is about to have its own brand, logo and origin.

Currently, the incense production profession brings households in Tan Lac Town a revenue of 14-15 billion VND each year. Incense products are mainly sold in the domestic market, but some establishments have taken advantage of the brand and origin to sell products that do not ensure quality. Therefore, if recognized, Quy Chau incense products and profession will not only reach out to the market outside the province but also contribute to improving product quality, preventing violations of trademarks and origin of Quy Chau incense.
