(Baonghean.vn) - On December 26 and 27, the 18th term People's Council of Dien Chau district held its 8th session.

At the 8th session, the People's Council of Dien Chau district focused on assessing the implementation of socio-economic, national defense and security tasks in 2013, in which 14/18 targets were achieved and exceeded. The economic structure shifted in the right direction, the proportion of agricultural, forestry and fishery production value accounted for 31.15%; industry - construction accounted for 35.67%; service sectors were 33.17%. Budget revenue reached 105 billion VND. The district also focused on attracting investment and creating favorable conditions for businesses and production establishments to operate, contributing to budget revenue, job creation and social security. Hunger eradication and poverty reduction continued to be implemented substantially with the poverty rate falling to 9.3%. The cultural and social sectors continued to have many positive changes. National defense and security were ensured. Administrative reform and handling of people's complaints and denunciations have had positive changes.

At the 8th session, the People's Council of Dien Chau district also focused on the tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2014. The session also selected 3 contents for questioning, including the issuance of land use right certificates in some areas that are still pending; inadequacies in the policy of supporting and implementing crop insurance in agriculture; and ensuring traffic order and safety. The session decided to pass 7 important resolutions on tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and contents under the authority of the People's Council of the district.
