Dien Chau District People's Council: Passed 7 resolutions at the 8th session

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 26 and 27, the People's Council of Dien Chau district, term XVIII, held its 8th session.

At the 8th session, the People's Council of Dien Chau district focused on assessing the implementation of socio-economic, defense and security tasks in 2013, in which 14/18 targets were achieved and exceeded. The economic structure shifted in the right direction, the proportion of agricultural, forestry and fishery production value accounted for 31.15%; industry and construction accounted for 35.67%; and services were 33.17%. Budget revenue reached 105 billion VND. The district also paid attention to attracting investment and creating favorable conditions for businesses and production establishments to operate, contributing to budget revenue, job creation and social security. Hunger eradication and poverty reduction continued to be implemented substantially with the poverty rate falling to 9.3%. The cultural and social sectors continued to have many positive changes. Defense and security were ensured. Administrative reform and handling of people's complaints and denunciations have had positive changes.

Delegates questioned the Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment about granting land use right certificates.

However, there are still 4 targets that have not been achieved as planned, including the economic growth rate reaching only 9.35%/12.5 - 13% of the plan; budget revenue reaching only 94.1%; the number of schools meeting national standards is 90/93 schools as planned; total grain output is only 95.4%. In addition, the progress of building new rural areas; granting outstanding land use right certificates is still slow...

At the 8th session, the People's Council of Dien Chau district also focused on the tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2014. The session also selected 3 issues for questioning, including the issuance of land use right certificates in some areas that are still pending; inadequacies in the policy of supporting and implementing crop insurance in agriculture; and ensuring traffic order and safety. The session decided to pass 7 important resolutions on tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and issues under the authority of the People's Council of the district.
