Stealing donations from the church.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 4th, the police of Quynh Luu district (Nghe An province) conducted a reenactment of the crime scenes involving the theft of donation money from several churches in Quynh Thanh commune and the theft of citizens' property by Nguyen Huu Huy (born in 1997, residing in Hamlet 4, Quynh Thanh commune) to investigate and clarify the case.

Accordingly, between November and December 2013, Nguyen Huu Huy repeatedly broke into churches in Quynh Thanh commune to pry open safes and steal donation money.

Based on intelligence gathered and information provided by some residents, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police began monitoring the suspect. At 6:30 AM on February 4, 2014, noticing that Mr. Trần Văn Hiển's family in Hamlet 1, Quỳnh Thanh Commune, was away from home, Huy sneaked into Mr. Hiển's mobile phone repair and sales stall to steal property. Through investigation and evidence gathering at the scene, the Quỳnh Thanh Commune Police and the Quỳnh Lưu District Police arrested Nguyễn Hữu Huy to clarify the case.

At the Quỳnh Thanh commune police station, Huy admitted to stealing property from Mr. Tran Van Hien's family and stated that he had stolen 3 mobile phones, 10 scratch cards worth 20,000 VND each, 3 phone batteries, and 250,000 VND in cash. The total value of the stolen property was nearly 3 million VND.

Furthermore, Huy confessed to breaking into four churches in Quynh Thanh commune nine times – Thanh Da, Cu Tan, Thanh Xuan, and Thanh Tan – to steal donation money. The total amount stolen from these churches was nearly 7 million VND. To steal the donation money, Huy used a sharp iron rod, 60 cm long, to break the locks and puncture holes in the outside of the safes before committing the theft.

The suspect is currently being held by the Quỳnh Lưu District Police for legal processing.
