Although far from the homeland, for Vietnamese expatriates living in Paris, the traditional Tet holiday is the time when people express their feelings towards their homeland, country, relatives and family.

Beautiful customs are also cherished and preserved by overseas Vietnamese, including the custom of going to the pagoda at the beginning of the year.

Early in the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year (January 31), hundreds of Buddhists were present in the grounds of Truc Lam Zen Monastery to prepare to attend the ceremony presided over by Venerable Thich Phuoc Duong.

The temple is located on Neuchâtel street, about 20km south of Paris.
