According to a report by the Central Steering Committee of the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign, after four years of implementation, the quality of Vietnamese products has steadily improved, with many products becoming competitive in the domestic market and favored by consumers.

However, the negative impact of the global economic crisis and the weaknesses of the economy are causing many difficulties in the production of businesses. Goods are difficult to sell, tens of thousands of businesses have had to temporarily suspend production, dissolve, or go bankrupt. Unemployment and underemployment are increasing. The preference for foreign goods still persists among a significant portion of consumers...

In 2014, the Central Steering Committee of the Campaign will continue its propaganda work with the following objectives: to improve and affirm the quality of Vietnamese branded goods and services; to promote the dissemination, advertising, and introduction of Vietnamese branded goods and related policies; to further enhance civic awareness, patriotism, and the development of a Vietnamese culture of production and consumption; and to improve the effectiveness of state management in creating a healthy market, protecting consumer rights, and creating conditions for businesses to enhance their production and business capabilities.

At the Conference on the Implementation of the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" Campaign in 2014, held on February 18th in Hanoi, Comrade Nguyen Thien Nhan, Member of the Political Bureau, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Head of the Central Steering Committee of the Campaign, emphasized: The "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" Campaign aims to strongly promote patriotism, affection, and responsibility for protecting the future of the country; build a consumer culture among Vietnamese people; encourage businesses to produce more high-quality, competitive Vietnamese goods to meet domestic consumption and export needs; and simultaneously leverage the combined strength in mobilizing and educating consumers to use domestic goods. Through this campaign, the level of trust among Vietnamese people in Vietnamese goods has increased significantly.

Comrade Nguyen Thien Nhan suggested that ministries and agencies should continue to effectively implement the campaign; encourage officials and employees of their agencies and units to buy Vietnamese goods; coordinate in developing a plan to disseminate comprehensive information about Vietnamese goods to domestic citizens as well as overseas Vietnamese; and consider forms of recognition for businesses, organizations, and individuals who have done well in the campaign...

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also noted that localities need to promote the use of Vietnamese goods among consumers; provide high-quality Vietnamese goods right in their areas; and support businesses producing high-quality Vietnamese goods.
