(Baonghean) -Thai Hoa - the gateway to the Northwest of Nghe An, where unique indigenous cultural values intersect, where the past and present are connected by historical relics of great historical significance. All of these create a colorful, vibrant and attractive picture of life, becoming a highlight in the "up to the West" tour.

If the Southwest of Nghe An is a range of high, rolling hills embracing the Lam River carrying heavy alluvium, the Northwest has the vast, fertile Phu Quy plateau and a unique cultural area of ethnic communities surrounded by the poetic Hieu River. In the midst of that vast, boundless space, Thai Hoa urban area becomes a point of intersection, connecting traffic hubs and indigenous cultural values. Therefore, the land of Thai Hoa today always contains profound, interesting things waiting for visitors to discover.

Without going far, just about 5 km from the town center in the Southeast direction, temporarily leaving the noisy, bustling pace of life of the city, we will encounter a peaceful countryside, hidden behind the cool green rubber forests called Vac village (Nghia Hoa commune) - a place that still preserves the values of Dong Son culture thousands of years ago. After 5 excavations, in Vac village, 347 tombs were discovered, 1,228 artifacts were collected, of which 665 were bronze objects. The 5th excavation in Dinh hamlet in the Northeast pointed out their residence. Therefore, Vac village belongs to the type of residential - burial relics, this helps us understand the life of Dong Son residents quite completely that few places have. Professor Hoang Xuan Chinh in the article "The stature of Vac village - a large cultural center in the Ca river basin" affirmed: "Vac village is a residential - burial relic of Dong Son culture with one of the most important positions in our country... With the presence of Vac village, Nghe Tinh land is no longer the fringe land of Dong Son culture but an important distribution area of Dong Son culture like the basins of the Red River and Ma River".

In 1999, Vac village was recognized as a national historical relic site and began to organize annual festivals. Coming to Vac village means coming back to the roots, lighting a stick of incense to show gratitude to the ancestors who opened the land, established the village, and passed it on to future generations. In 2011, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 24/QD. UBND - CN on the detailed planning of the construction of the Archaeological Site Conservation Area associated with eco-tourism to build Vac village into a destination, a spiritual tourist destination to return to the roots. Accordingly, the relic site will have a total area of 155.94 hectares with functional subdivisions such as: Archaeological site, Vac village communal house, landscape green tree system, administrative area, tourism services; resort area; renovated viewing area; development reserve area and green tree protection area combined with afforestation.

Therefore, in the near future, the Vac village national historical and cultural relic site will not only have archaeological research value but also be an eco-tourism, resort, and entertainment area combined with research to learn about the identity and customs of the ethnic minorities in the region. Comrade Hoang Nghia Thai - Party Secretary and Chairman of Nghia Hoa Commune People's Committee said: Although it is an honor to have a relic site in the commune, Nghia Hoa clearly sees a high responsibility in preserving and promoting historical values. Therefore, the commune has established a relic site management board, assigning specific departments to guide and welcome visitors when needed. At the same time, it has well implemented planning management work, creating all favorable conditions to implement according to the planning.

A "red address" in the tour to Thai Hoa, to the Western region of Nghe An is the relic site of Uncle Ho visiting and talking to the people of Phu Quy in Dong Hieu commune. The artifacts still preserved at the Traditional House of Dong Hieu Farm have contributed to recreating Uncle Ho's visit and talk on December 10, 1961. There is still the microphone Uncle used to talk to the people, the simple single bed where he took a nap; the bowl and chopsticks where he had lunch with the cadres of Nghe An province, the farm cadres... And many images recording the activities when Uncle Ho visited Dong Hieu are still preserved and carefully displayed. From the moment when he stepped down from the helicopter, visited the coffee plantation, visited the livestock farm, talked to the people... to the image when the plane carrying him left Phu Quy with the lingering emotions of the people.

The souvenirs and photos, though rustic and simple, realistically depict and leave a deep impression of the portrait of the "Beloved Father" of the Vietnamese people. Within the planning scope approved by the Provincial People's Committee, Thai Hoa Town has put into use the Uncle Ho Memorial House in the premises of the Dong Hieu Commune People's Committee. Here, all the documentary photos of Uncle Ho's visit to Dong Hieu are displayed in order, in a lively space. In order for the relic site to always promote its value, especially the value of traditional education. The entire area of 97,038m2 of the relic site is divided into 10 main functional areas, including: Uncle Ho's memorial area, Uncle Ho's fish pond, souvenir garden... Comrade Nguyen Van Nien - Secretary of the Dong Hieu Commune Party Committee emphasized: The Party Committee and people of Dong Hieu always preserve and promote the value of images and artifacts during Uncle Ho's visit and talk and consider it a driving force to strive to fulfill the local political tasks well.

And then visitors will be immersed in the dynamism and youthfulness of the young town on the banks of the Hieu River. In that hustle and bustle, visitors will have the necessary quiet spaces, beautiful romantic scenery when visiting Bau Sen Forest Park, enjoying Western cuisine at Khe Vinh Eco-tourism Area, or enjoying a cool, airy space at the restaurants on the west bank of the Hieu River...

Based on the potential and advantages that Thai Hoa has planned, implemented the planning and is gradually emerging a series of destinations in the cultural - historical - ecological tourism tour in the area. And with the advantage of the Center of the Northwest region of Nghe An, the intersection of National Highway 48, Ho Chi Minh Road, from Thai Hoa, tourist routes are formed to the relics of Ru Gam cave - Tru village banyan tree (Nghia Khanh - Nghia Dan), Sao river lake and connecting more destinations to Chau Tien ancient Thai village, Bua cave (Quy Chau); Sao Va waterfall, Chin Gian temple (Que Phong) or down to milestone 0 - Lat town (Tan Ky), the starting point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh road... Comrade Le Phuc An - Chairman of the Town People's Committee said: On the basis of the planning at the relic sites approved by the Provincial People's Committee, Thai Hoa Town creates favorable conditions to attract investors to invest in infrastructure to develop tourism services. This is one of the solutions for the town's economy to shift in the right direction, in line with the orientation of becoming a regional center for service and tourism economy.
