Poisoned Chinese dishes: Gradually seep in and cause illness
Plates, cups, and bowls are essential household items, but in Vietnam, Chinese goods are plentiful. Recently, many types of cups, plates, and bowls... originating from China have been discovered to contain many toxic substances, causing consumers to worry.
In early April 2013, information about Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho (Hamlet 4, Phu Do, Me Tri, Tu Liem, Hanoi) discovering two small strange packages stuck between two layers of a broken plate caused a stir in public opinion. This was a type of ceramic plate printed with a rose image, the back of the plate had the words "Made in China".
Upon closer inspection, it was found that this plate had some unusual features compared to ordinary ceramic plates. Only a thin layer on the top and bottom of the plate was made of ceramic, while the rim of the plate below was coated with a more opaque white layer. In particular, the bottom layer on the broken part of the plate was made of a suspicious-looking opaque yellow plastic compound.

Chinese plastic dishes are extremely toxic. |
Not only ceramic plates but plastic dishes from China are also very toxic.
In 2013, a study by Taiwanese and Chinese scientists announced that melamine was found in dishes and could enter the body through food. Accordingly, when eating hot food, the melamine in the food plate can penetrate the body and cause harm to health.
This is an organic chemical widely used in the production of plastic products, children's toys, and household items. Scientists have discovered that people who eat breakfast on melamine-made dishes have 8 times higher levels of melamine contamination than those who use porcelain.
Colorful Chinese dishes can cause cancer
In the current market, ceramic bowls and plates in our country have many Chinese products of unknown origin. Their common feature is eye-catching designs, many product sets have elaborate patterns and motifs that look very pleasing to the eye, the price is sometimes only 1/3 of products with origin and brand.

Therefore, you should choose products with clear origin. For ceramic products, you should choose the type with white enamel; you should not be greedy for Chinese products with eye-catching colors, elaborate patterns and motifs.
In October 2013, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) announced the results of testing paper plates and paper cups in Hanoi. The results showed that 4/6 samples were found to be contaminated with lead (1/2 samples originated from China, 3/4 samples were produced domestically, with levels ranging from 0.36-0.45 µg/l) and 3/6 samples were contaminated with Arsenic. However, the levels of contamination were all within the permissible limits for heavy metal indicators for packaging in direct contact with food.

Chinese paper cups are very toxic |
Paper cups are displayed everywhere at Dong Xuan Market (Hanoi) in many colors but all follow the criteria: floating goods, no origin. Sellers always affirm that the products are domestically produced, but when looking at the bottom of some cups, the words "made in China" are printed very faintly.
According to experts, even when using quality paper cups, consumers can still easily be "poisoned".
The problem related to health disadvantages is not only in the production facilities but also in the consumers themselves. Disposable cups and plates still look very new, so many people put them away to use a few more times, leading to the risk of chemical contamination of the raw materials of paper cups and plates. Because of repeated use, the pulp and glue, plastic, and chemicals released will mix with food and drinks. Paper cups that have been left for a long time and become moldy are also a breeding ground for germs and bacteria that cause disease. Many consumers "carelessly" use paper cups that are only used for drinking cold water to hold hot water, make coffee, or hold hot soup...
