ACCEPT THE BATTLE AND ACCEPT DEFEAT
When the final whistle blew, coach Nhan Thien Nhan quietly got into his car and left, his face not showing much sadness. Perhaps, losing had become all too familiar to this team, so another defeat didn't cause them too much distress.
Indeed, HV.AG was too weak, and even facing Than. QN, a team that played in the First Division last year, they couldn't resist their fate. Even with their best players, HV.AG couldn't improve their performance. Their midfield couldn't control the ball, both flanks were constantly exploited, the visiting team was too weak, and what was bound to happen did happen, as they quickly conceded two goals in the first half.
Entering the second half, coach Nhan Thien Nhan made a series of changes to both the defense and attack, but these failed to change the situation. All they could manage were two dangerous opportunities after shots from Hoang Max and Van Sang in the last five minutes of the match. Without individuals capable of turning the tide, HV.AG continued to endure the onslaught and left the field dejectedly, sighing in frustration at their inferiority to their opponents.
BREAK THE LOSING STREAK
With the return of four key players – Tuan Linh, Peter, Minh Tuan, and Hai Huy – Than.QN completely dominated their opponents. Controlling the game and effortlessly launching diverse attacks from the center to the flanks, Coach Dinh Cao Nghia's players created half a dozen dangerous opportunities in the first half.
Following Xuan Ngoc's missed close-range shot, in the 32nd minute, captain Minh Tuan unleashed a stunning long-range strike from 20 meters, finding the back of the net against HV.AG. Having taken the lead, Than.QN became even more dangerous. In the 40th minute, midfielder Peter scored his second goal of the season with a powerful long-range shot, giving Than.QN a 2-0 lead.
Despite having the advantage in the score, Than.QN continued to attack relentlessly and in the second half, they continued to dominate the game. Uche, Xuan Ngoc, Hai Huy, and Tuan Anh had no fewer than five opportunities to score, but due to bad luck, the goal eluded them.
However, with two goals scored in the first half against a much weaker opponent, Than.QN easily secured the victory. Earning three points against HV.AG, Than.QN ended their previous three-match losing streak. More importantly, coach Dinh Cao Nghia's team returned to the Top 3.
