With the theme "Hai Phong in the color of red flamboyant flowers," the festival opened with the song "Hai Phong ablaze with flying flamboyant flowers," followed by a parade of 15 districts and counties in the city with 5 models representing the city's typical characteristics: "Flamboyant flowers - Port services - Industry - Agriculture - Tourism," creating a colorful picture of the people and land of Hai Phong.
In his opening remarks at the festival, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee Duong Anh Dien emphasized that in 2012, the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival was born from the idea of organizing a new cultural and tourism festival named after a beautiful flower associated with the city, aiming to promote, build brand awareness, and enhance the position and image of Hai Phong domestically and internationally.
The unique cultural activities of the port city, successfully organized twice and now for the third time, have gradually created a distinctive mark of a festival deeply rooted in Hai Phong's character. Through this, the festival honors the land and people of Hai Phong; fostering enthusiasm, energy, willpower, and confidence for the people of the port city to overcome difficulties, successfully complete tasks, and achieve the goals set forth in the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Party, the Resolution of the 14th Congress of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, and Conclusion 72 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution 32 of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong City during the period of industrialization and modernization.
The 3rd Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2014, held in conjunction with the event of receiving the Certificate of Ranking as a "Special National Monument - Scenic Landscape of the Cat Ba Archipelago," also served as an encouragement for the people of Hai Phong to strive towards the goal of building the Cat Ba Archipelago into a green tourism destination, a world-class tourism center, worthy of the outstanding position, potential, and value of the Cat Ba Archipelago.
