(Baonghean.vn) -On the evening of October 9th, the closing ceremony of the 2014 Nghe Tinh Folk Song and Traditional Singing Contest for high school students took place in Vinh City. Attending the closing ceremony was Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

After two days of lively performances, nearly 100 acts in diverse genres, praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the homeland; reflecting social life activities and the teacher-student relationship, were presented by students from junior and senior high schools in the province with innocence and purity, attracting a large audience. The costumes and stage props clearly depicted the folk art of Nghe An province and its people.In her concluding remarks at the competition, Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh affirmed: The organization of the Nghe Tinh folk song and phrasing competition for high school students in 2014 contributed to promoting the enduring vitality and traditional values of Nghe Tinh folk songs and phrasing. At the closing ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 outstanding units at the competition, including: Nghe An College of Culture and Arts; and the districts of Nam Dan, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong, Quy Chau, Ky Son, and Yen Thanh. In addition, the Provincial College of Culture and Arts awarded 3 prizes for the best individual performances at the competition and granted direct admission to 3 students: Tran Thi Thu (Thanh Chuong), Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet (Yen Thanh), and Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Thai Hoa Town).
The organizing committee also awarded 20 C prizes, 15 B prizes, and 10 A prizes to individual performances; for group awards, there was 1 First prize to the Nam Dan group; 2 Second prizes to Thanh Chuong and Nghia Dan; 3 Third prizes to Vinh City, Thai Hoa, and Yen Thanh; and 10 consolation prizes.
