More than 8,000 hectares of rice infected with blast disease
(Baonghean.vn) - News from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: As of April 18, 2015, Nghe An had about 8,881 hectares of rice infected with rice blast disease, of which more than 1,105 hectares were severely infected.

In addition to rice blast, brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers are also causing damage to 163 hectares of rice in the standing and heading stages in Ky Son, Anh Son, and Hung Nguyen; brown spot disease is causing damage to 3,892 hectares in most districts in the province; bacterial leaf blight is causing damage to more than 191 hectares of rice in the heading and heading stages in Quy Hop, Nghi Loc, Vinh City, Hoang Mai Town, etc.; rats are causing damage to 1,011 hectares of rice in the heading and heading stages in Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Nam Dan, and Vinh City, etc. Other pests such as locusts, armyworms, leaf rollers, and stem borers are causing damage locally.
