Building a model new rural area in Quynh Doi

(Baonghean) - After the Party Congress for the 2015 - 2020 term, the Party Committee of Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu) issued and implemented a thematic resolution "upgrading new rural criteria to model standards".

Comrade Ho Bao Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, excitedly said: “Currently, Quynh Doi is expanding and upgrading the sidewalk system and planting trees on the inter-village roads. This is both to create landscape and environment and to create shade for people to rest. This is also one of the criteria for rural traffic to be upgraded to become a model”. According to Mr. Thong, the work ahead is still complicated, to achieve the model criteria, it requires high determination from the entire Party Committee and the people.

Resolution of the Congress for the term 2015 - 2020, the Party Committee and people of Quynh Doi have raised their determination to build a commune that meets the criteria of a model rural area; at the same time, ensuring to preserve the cultural foundation of Quynh village for thousands of years. Therefore, in the process of implementing the criteria of a model new rural area, the commune focuses on closely following the goals issued in the resolution to build action programs that are accurate such as: Mobilizing people to promote internal resources, donate land, renovate surrounding walls, expand traffic corridors. Promoting the tradition of studiousness, improving the quality of comprehensive education, achieving the top unit of the district. Promoting the development of small-scale industry - services, improving the quality of traditional craft village goods. From there, these programs are concretized by departments and offices to be deployed to villages and hamlets. Secretary of the Party cell of Hamlet 2, comrade Ho Sy Hoi said: “We have issued a specialized resolution to enhance the leadership and direction of the Party cell in mobilizing people to complete concrete roads in alleys and hamlets. And the first thing is to mobilize people to build ditch covers on both sides of the road to widen and beautify the road”. With the consensus of the Party cell and the consensus of the people, within just 1 month, more than 1 km of the canal along the inter-village road in Hamlet 2 was basically completed with a cover system, at a cost of about 200 million VND, with each household contributing an average of 1-2 million VND, with some families contributing up to 20 million VND. Comrade Ho Bao Thong added: “Just broadcasting information on the commune radio system, people responded immediately, some contributed labor and money, sparking a movement to build rural traffic between hamlets and hamlets”.

Having that belief is thanks to the land of Quynh Doi, which has a long tradition of mandarin examinations, where children who have passed exams and passed exams all turn to their homeland, always showing gratitude and pride. Therefore, every construction here bears the mark of the children of the homeland, such as the village gate invested by Mr. Ho Sy Tien, or the community cultural house invested by Ms. Phan Thi Quynh Nhu with nearly 1.5 billion VND, built from 2012 until now and put into use. Along with that are constructions such as the water plant, upgrading the Than temple relic, Noi market, traditional house, memorial stele of poet Ho Xuan Huong, Memorial of martyrs 1930 - 1931, all of which have received great investment from the people and children far from home.

In 2014, when starting to complete 19 new rural criteria, Quynh Doi commune had 13 hard criteria. All the remaining criteria were included in the general leadership policy by the commune party committee, and were realized by specialized resolutions from the village party cells. When implemented, the party members and people highly agreed, so within just 2 months, the infrastructure items were completed. With 14.7 km of concrete roads within the village, more than 4 km of inter-village roads and kindergarten buildings, medical stations, offices, central campus, wireless broadcasting system... The total cost of building the new rural area was up to 207.7 billion VND, of which the people and children of the hometown contributed 74.832 billion VND.

Promoting the tradition of studiousness, in recent years, the commune has awarded prizes to excellent students of the province and the country. After the congress, the Party Committee of the commune issued an action program, focusing on promoting the tradition of examinations. At the same time, it focused on building craft villages of vermicelli, cakes and incense. During the past term, the commune has built an incense craft village in hamlet 3 and hamlet 4 with 10 households and 50 workers with regular jobs; a village with rattan and bamboo weaving in hamlet 2 and hamlet 5 with 67 workers; the vermicelli and cake craft village has also created a brand and provided stable income.

To achieve the goal of becoming a model new rural commune by 2020, with synchronous and modern infrastructure, high and sustainable economic growth, and an advanced cultural life imbued with traditional identity, the Quynh Doi Commune Party Committee is mobilizing all resources, concretizing them with an action program, focusing on upgrading each sustainability criterion.
