Students of Phan School (Nghe An) compete in the Asian Informatics Olympiad

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 6, at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, a farewell ceremony was held for Le Anh Duc, a student competing in the 2016 Asian Informatics Olympiad.

Representatives of the Provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Education and Training, teachers and the Alumni Association of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An attended, presented flowers and gifts to congratulate Le Anh Duc.

In the 2014-2015 school year, Duc, a student of grade 11 A2, won the second prize in the national Informatics competition and was selected to compete in the 2015 Asian Olympic Excellent Student Competition. In the 2015-2016 school year, he was specially selected to enter the second round of the international Informatics competition and became one of 15 members of the Vietnamese team participating in the 2016 Asian Olympic Excellent Student Competition.

The 2016 Asian Informatics Olympiad hosted by Korea will take place on May 7, 2016. Candidates will compete online in their own countries, and each team will select 6 entries with the highest scores to participate in the award.

Up to now, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has had 34 students participating in international and regional competitions in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Russian and has won 7 Gold Medals, 9 Silver Medals, 7 Bronze Medals, and 2 Certificates of Merit.
