However, according to FPT Telecom Deputy General Director Vu Anh Tu, the maintenance will only be carried out on the Singapore - Vietnam route and on this route, FPT Telecom's traffic volume is very low so it will have almost no impact.

AAG is a 20,000 km long submarine cable system connecting Southeast Asia with the west coast of the United States, passing through the Pacific Ocean and the islands of Guam and Hawaii. There are 4 Vietnamese companies participating in this project including FPT Telecom, Viettel, VNPT, SPT, out of a total of 19 companies working together to build it.

Since its launch in 2009, the cable has experienced several problems. In 2015 alone, AAG had three problems, most recently in June. The incident has greatly affected users because this is currently Vietnam's main international Internet route.
