Seafood production in Quynh Luu increased by over 9%.

(Baonghean.vn) - In the first nine months of the year, the output of exploited and farmed seafood in Quynh Luu (Nghe An) reached nearly 52,900 tons, equivalent to 86.87% of the plan, an increase of 9.15% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the exploited output reached nearly 45,600 tons, equivalent to 89.26% of the plan, an increase of 5.87% compared to the same period last year.

Seafood catches in Quynh Luu in the first nine months of 2016 increased by 9.15% compared to the same period last year.

Aquaculture production reached nearly 7,300 tons, equivalent to 74.44% of the plan, an increase of 29.61% compared to the same period last year. The cultivated area reached over 2,530 hectares. Production facilities produced and sold over 655 million shrimp larvae, reaching 97.76% of the plan, and 6 million crab larvae, reaching 40% of the plan; 761 hectares of intensive shrimp farming were implemented, reaching 118% of the plan.

The district conducted four inspections of aquaculture breeding, feed, and veterinary medicine businesses; issued fines totaling 8.6 million VND and ordered the recall of two product lines not listed in the permitted circulation catalog in Vietnam; and effectively implemented quarantine measures for shrimp fry produced and circulated within the district. Additionally, the district granted veterinary hygiene and breeding certificates to 10 aquaculture breeding facilities; and collaborated with the fisheries sub-department and agricultural extension center to implement a model of installing horizontal sonar, radar, and ICOM equipment, and constructing PU-based storage compartments on fishing vessels.
