Seafood exploitation output in Quynh Luu increased by over 9%

(Baonghean.vn) - In the first 9 months of the year, the output of seafood exploitation and aquaculture in Quynh Luu (Nghe An) reached nearly 52,900 tons, equal to 86.87% of the plan, up 9.15% over the same period. Of which, the output of exploitation reached nearly 45,600 tons, equal to 89.26% of the plan, up 5.87% over the same period.

Seafood catching in Quynh Luu in the first 9 months of 2016 increased by 9.15% over the same period.

The farming output reached nearly 7,300 tons, equal to 74.44% of the plan, up 29.61% over the same period. The farming area reached over 2,530 hectares. The facilities produced and sold over 655 million shrimp seeds, reaching 97.76% of the plan, produced 6 million crab seeds, reaching 40% of the plan; and raised 761 hectares of intensive shrimp farming, equal to 118% of the plan.

The district organized 4 inspections of the activities and business of aquatic breeds, feed, and veterinary drugs; issued a fine of 8.6 million VND and forced the recall of 2 product lines not on the list of products allowed to circulate in Vietnam; performed well the quarantine work for shrimp breeds produced and circulated in the area. At the same time, the district issued certificates of eligibility for veterinary hygiene and breed production to 10 aquatic breed production facilities; coordinated with the Department of Fisheries and the Agricultural Extension Center to implement a model of installing horizontal detectors, radars, ICOMs, and building PU-resistant storage tanks on fishing vessels.
