Nghe An Newspaper's online edition has been launched and is officially operational.
With the support of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and relevant departments and agencies in the province, Nghe An Newspaper is proceeding with the development of the Nghe An online newspaper.
During the implementation process, the Editorial Board, together with the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Finance, and the Department of Planning and Investment, successively surveyed the experiences of organizing online newspaper activities in Thanh Hoa, Ha Tay, Thai Nguyen, Da Nang, Hanoi Moi, and Quang Ninh, in order to draw the most effective lessons when officially launching the Nghe An online newspaper on the Internet.
During the preparation and trial launch of the Nghe An Online Newspaper, it received support and positive reception from readers both domestically and internationally, including the United States, Canada, France, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, and Russia. According to a foreign website specializing in ranking websites worldwide, in early September 2007, the Nghe An Online Newspaper ranked 980,000th out of 3 billion websites. Today, it has risen to 720,000th, surpassing 260,000 other websites in just three months. In particular, the timely reporting by Nghe An Online Newspaper on the natural disaster in Nam Giai commune (Que Phong district) in October 2007 and the rockfall incident at the Ban Ve hydropower plant construction site (Tuong Duong district) has effectively promoted the nationwide campaign to contribute material and moral support to victims.
On the morning of January 2nd, 2008, the online version of Nghe An Newspaper will be launched and officially begin operations.
