President gives gifts to 4 centenarians in Quy Chau

(Baonghean) -On February 6-7-8, 2010, the working delegation including leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Elderly Association of Quy Chau district visited and presented gifts from the President to 4 elderly people who turned 100 years old on the occasion of the Canh Dan New Year.

The elders who received gifts from the President include: Vi Thi Chieng (in Chao village, Chau Binh commune), Le Thi Lieu (in Khum village, Chau Hoi commune) and Pham Thi Ba and Vi Thi Ti (in Cang village and Chieng Ban 2 village, Chau Thang commune). In addition to the President's gift (including 5m of pink silk and a birthday card), the delegation also presented each of them with 200,000 VND in gifts from the province and many gifts from the district.

Meeting the elderly, the comrades in the delegation kindly asked about their health, living situation, and the attention of local authorities for them, encouraging them to always live happily, healthily, and usefully, worthy of being tall and shady trees for their children and grandchildren to follow.

On this occasion, the district leaders also reminded local authorities and families to always pay attention to and create conditions for the elderly to have the best living conditions, both materially and spiritually.
