On October 6, the South Korean military conducted live-fire exercises near the disputed maritime border with North Korea in the Yellow Sea.

According to a South Korean Defense Ministry spokesperson, during the two-hour exercise, soldiers fired over 5,000 artillery rounds, including K-9 self-propelled howitzers, Vulcan mortars, and various other types of artillery.
The South Korean military stated that this was a routine exercise aimed at enhancing combat readiness and improving the naval artillery skills.
