South Korea holds live-fire drills near inter-Korean border
The South Korean military on October 6 conducted live-fire drills near the disputed border with North Korea in the Yellow Sea.

According to a spokesman for the South Korean Ministry of Defense, during the two-hour exercise, the country's soldiers fired over 5,000 artillery shells, including K-9 self-propelled guns, Vulcan mortars and many other types of artillery.
The South Korean military said the exercise was a routine exercise aimed at enhancing combat readiness and improving the navy's artillery skills.
