"Park" of the green uniform soldiers
(Baonghean.vn) -After more than a year of returning to Na Loi, Ky Son, I was surprised: the campus of Border Post 535 was spacious, clean, and eye-catching. The soldiers in green uniforms welcomed us with youthful, friendly, and warm smiles...
Lieutenant Colonel Mai Van Cuong - Political Commissar of Border Post 535 (Nghe An Border Guard) excitedly said: The unit is assigned to protect 8km of border with 4 national border markers, including 2 communes of Na Loi and Doc May with 677 households/3603 people, with 3 ethnic groups living there: Mong, Thai, Kho Mu. The local Party Committee and government have coordinated well with Border Post 535 in building and consolidating political bases, developing socio-economy and consolidating and maintaining national defense and security posture.
In particular, the unit has proactively developed a plan to coordinate with mass organizations in Doc May commune to detect and prevent 27 households intending to migrate to Laos. Well implementing Directive 13 CT-UBND of Nghe An Provincial People's Committeeon mobilizing people to hand over weapons, explosives, artillery, and support tools in border areas,Initially, the station collected 46 flintlock guns and 28 gun barrels; detected, advised, and coordinated the handling of land disputes and violations of border regulations. The unit also advised the locality to effectively implement the 167 CP program on poverty reduction; overcome the consequences of natural disasters, provide free medical examinations and medicine to people, and organize literacy classes with 2 classes/35 students participating.
Lieutenant Colonel Mai Van Cuong invited me to visit the unit's campus, introduced the system of signs, trenches, fortifications, farming and livestock areas, sports areas (volleyball courts, badminton courts, table tennis rooms), conference halls, and reading rooms. All the works are very reasonably planned, scientifically thought, neatly arranged, ensuring the environment and landscape in the unit. I secretly admire you - the soldiers who are overcoming all difficulties, hardships, deprivations, being away from their wives, children, families, friends, and relatives day and night, firmly maintaining the "Fence of the Fatherland", a noble responsibility that the Party, the State, and the people have assigned to the Border Guard force.
I met Lieutenant Trinh Dang Hung - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Station, one of 80 outstanding young faces honored by the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union in 2011. Lieutenant Hung invited me to see the "Youth Project", and introduced: these are hydrangea trees forming a border around the flower garden, these are pine trees, palm trees, bougainvillea; these are zinnias, ten o'clock flowers placed in 2 star shapes... In the near future, the Youth Union is calculating the appropriate type of tree to plant in the shape of a heart to cover the star in the middle, to create a symbolic meaning for the Fatherland in the hearts of officers and soldiers of the Border Guard. I appreciate that good, creative and truly meaningful idea.
Looking at the lush, straight rows of trees and the colorful flowers in the garden"Youth project" during March - Youth Month,I admire the dynamic look and determination“Renew, beautify”Your daring to think and act will make the old, worn-out paths no longer exist, and instead be replaced by"small park"was grown on the rough rocks of the past in this remote border area of the Western Nghe An. That is even more appreciated in the soldiers, in addition to the task of managing and protecting the sovereignty and security of the national border, they also invest their efforts, time and money to beautify life.
Xa Na Loi, Ky Son, far from the remote and windy borderland, but the image of the "soldier's park" still lingers in my mind.
