Awarding the Medal "Protecting Quang Tri Citadel in 1972"

(Baonghean) -Towards the 37th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2012), on the morning of April 20, the Liaison Committee of the Quynh Luu Soldiers' Association held a meeting and awarded the Quang Tri Citadel Protection Medal to comrades of the 95th Regiment, 325th Division, 2nd Corps.

Quynh Luu district had 108 people from Regiment 95 participating in the 81-day and night battle at Quang Tri citadel. At the end of the campaign, many soldiers sacrificed their lives on the battlefield and many soldiers returned to their hometowns with many injuries, becoming war invalids, sick soldiers, and infected with Agent Orange... After 40 years, there are now only 50 comrades living in the whole district. On this occasion, 50 comrades were awarded the Quang Tri Citadel Protection Medal in 1972 by Quynh Luu district. At the meeting, in an emotional and cozy atmosphere, the former soldiers recalled memories of the difficult but extremely heroic days on the Quang Tri Front. This was also an opportunity for the former soldiers to connect, exchange, encourage and help each other in life.
