Screening of patients for pediatric congenital heart surgery program

(Baonghean) - On August 16, the Congenital Heart Surgery Support Program for Children in Nghe An (sponsored by Bac A Bank and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company) began screening patients in 4 districts: Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh and Quynh Luu. The Nghe An Children's Support Fund coordinated with experts and good doctors from the Cardiovascular Center - E Hospital (Hanoi) to directly visit the Dien Ky Commune Health Station (Dien Chau) to examine the children. Through the propaganda of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the health departments in the districts in the region benefited, many families brought their children and grandchildren for screening.

Due to the large number of patients coming for examination, Dien Ky Commune Health Station prepared 6 examination rooms and mobilized all medical staff of the Station to support the screening examination team. On the first day, Nghi Loc district was the locality that did a good job of organizing. It is known that the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghi Loc district widely announced to each hamlet and commune in the district, then made a specific list and car rental contract for families to bring their children and grandchildren to Dien Ky Health Station, and at the same time sent staff to support and advise... 21 children from Nghi Loc district were screened. Doctor Tran Dac Dai - Pediatric Cardiology Specialist - E Hospital said: "This is a very meaningful humanitarian activity of Bac A Bank and has attracted the attention of all levels, sectors and especially for patients with congenital heart disease from families in difficult circumstances, so we have made great efforts to complete our task".

With the efforts of the Cardiovascular Center - E Hospital and related departments, on the first day of the program, 324 children in 4 districts in the region benefited from medical examinations and 40 cases were assigned to surgery. Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh - Director of Nghe An Children's Support Fund said: "For cases assigned to surgery, the Children's Support Fund will prepare a profile, then conduct a family assessment and approval. This work is carried out publicly, democratically and the children who benefit from the program are guaranteed to be the right subjects."

Today, August 17, the Cardiovascular Center - E Hospital conducted screening in Do Luong district for children in the southwestern region of the province.
