(Baonghean) - On August 16th, the program to support congenital heart surgery for children in Nghe An (sponsored by Bac A Bank and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company) began screening patients in four districts: Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, and Quynh Luu. The Nghe An Children's Protection Fund collaborated with experts and skilled doctors from the Cardiovascular Center – E Hospital (Hanoi) to directly examine the children at the Dien Ky Commune Health Station (Dien Chau). Through the dissemination of information by the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs and the health departments in the beneficiary districts, many families brought their children for screening.

Due to the large number of patients seeking treatment, the Dien Ky Commune Health Station prepared six examination rooms and mobilized all its medical staff to assist the screening team. On the first day, Nghi Loc district performed quite well in organizing the event. It is known that the Nghi Loc District Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs widely publicized the information to every hamlet and commune in the district, then compiled a specific list and arranged for cars to transport families to the Dien Ky Health Station, while also assigning staff to provide support and advice. Twenty-one children from Nghi Loc district underwent screening. Dr. Tran Dac Dai – Pediatric Cardiology Specialist – E Hospital said: “This is a very meaningful humanitarian activity of Bac A Bank and has attracted the attention of all levels and sectors, especially for patients with congenital heart disease from disadvantaged families, so we have made great efforts to complete our mission.”
Thanks to the efforts of the Cardiovascular Center – E Hospital and relevant departments, on the first day of the program, 324 children in 4 districts in the beneficiary area received medical examinations, and 40 cases were recommended for surgery. Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh – Director of the Nghe An Children's Protection Fund said: “For cases recommended for surgery, the Children's Protection Fund will create dossiers, then assess family circumstances and approve the cases. This process is conducted openly and democratically, ensuring that the children benefiting from the program are the right recipients.”
Today, August 17th, the Cardiovascular Center of E Hospital conducted screening examinations in Do Luong district for children in the southwestern region of the province.
