(Baonghean.vn)ButIn anticipation of the 63rd anniversary of the Vietnamese Student and Youth Day (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2013), on the evening of January 5, 2013, at Vinh Teacher Training College, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of the Nghe An Provincial Student Association organized the Award Ceremony for the "January Star" Award for the 2012-2013 academic year and the "5 Good Students" title for the 2011-2012 academic year. Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, was in attendance.

This year's "January Star" award honors 46 provincial-level recipients and 6 recipients of the "5 Good Students" title at the central level, awarded to students with academic scores of 8.0 or higher; or those with scientific research projects that won first or second prize at the school level, or first or second prize in national-level Olympic competitions; or who are outstanding youth union officials in universities in the province.

On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union awarded prizes to schools with outstanding achievements in the sports movement. Previously, in order to create a healthy and beneficial playground for young people in schools, the Provincial Youth Union launched a movement for cultural and artistic activities and physical exercise to music in the rhythmic style, aerobic training, and sports dances in schools.


Despite lacking the favorable training environment of their city counterparts, the teams from high schools in districts like Thanh Chuong and Quynh Luu delivered truly impressive performances. The results were as follows: Dang Thuc Hua High School and the Orion Family dance group won first prize; Quynh Luu 3 High School and Huynh Thuc Khang High School won second prize.





Awards were presented to students who achieved the January Star title.
