(Baonghean)Born and raised in Dong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh, Dang Quang An graduated as a mechanic at Factory Z167, Department of Automobiles and Tractors, Power Station (now the Department of Vehicles and Machinery, General Department of Engineering, Ministry of National Defense). After graduating, he was assigned to work at Factory 467, Department of Engineering, Military Region 4. From a "newbie" who was unfamiliar with the profession, Dang Quang An quickly overcame initial difficulties and obstacles because he determined: he had to try to learn from the previous technical staff, constantly improve his professional qualifications, skills, and practice a lot to solidify his skills.

As a 7/7 level lathe worker, Dang Quang An was assigned to process high-precision parts. Given the limited technical equipment of the workshop, this was an extremely difficult task. However, with the creativity and experience of a skilled worker, he always came up with effective solutions. Not only completing all assigned tasks, he was also the author of many valuable technical innovations and improvements such as: "Oil shield cylinder fixture"; "GAZ 53 apple punching die set"; "Shaft positioning fixture and 1400 x 700 tunnel door opener"... His initiatives were applied in production with high efficiency, contributing to the completion of the workshop's tasks. He confided: "As a worker, you must love your job, have spirit and responsibility to bring about efficiency, productivity and high quality. Without loving your job, the products you make will have no soul."

As a team leader, he often enthusiastically helps young workers who are new to the profession, from simple operations such as turning small details to how to turn them properly, how to use machinery and equipment to ensure labor safety. Not only is he good at professional tasks, but when it comes to his daily life at home, he is also an exemplary husband and father who loves his wife and children wholeheartedly. "The warmth of my family is the foundation for me to complete my tasks," he shared with me.

With his achievements in work, Dang Quang An has been awarded certificates of merit by all levels for many years, continuously achieving the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level for 11 consecutive years; in 2006, he achieved the title of Emulation Fighter at the entire army level; in 2007, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister, and in 2010, he achieved the title of "Skilled Worker" of the entire army organized by the National Defense Trade Union.

Commenting on him, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of Workshop 467, said: “Dang Quang An is a worker with a high sense of responsibility for his work, daring to think and to do. And, with his skillful hands, he has created many high-quality mechanical products, making an important contribution to the completion of the production and business tasks of Workshop 467.”
