(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 18, in Vinh City, the Department of Information and Communications held a conference to summarize the work of PCL&TKCN in 2012 and deploy tasks for 2013. Attending were representatives of the Information Department of Military Region 4, leaders of the Information Department of the Provincial Military Command, the Information Department of the Provincial Border Guard Command, and local Postal and Telecommunications enterprises.

In 2012, due to the impact of weather, storms, tropical depressions and heavy rains, damage was caused to the Postal and Telecommunications infrastructure. In Nghe An Telecommunications network alone, the total damage caused by natural disasters was estimated at 660 million VND. Of which, the heaviest damage was to the system of transmission stations and power sources serving telecommunications stations. To proactively respond to natural disasters, storms and floods, the Department of Information and Communications has proactively developed a plan with agencies and units operating in the field of information technology to deploy PCBL & TKCN work in 2013. In particular, focusing on ensuring safety corridors for cable lines, microwave antennas, BTS stations before the rainy and stormy season; promptly troubleshooting, ensuring smooth communication systems.


Conference overview.

Regarding the 2013 plan, the Information and Communications sector will focus on mobilizing all resources, closely coordinating resources, the state, businesses and people to work together to minimize damage to people and property while ensuring that communication is always uninterrupted in all forms. Telecommunications EnterprisesrReview cable routes, check the safety of BTS stations; develop telecommunications infrastructure in vulnerable areas, isolated areas, and coastal areas;Coordinate the synchronous implementation of plans and fully meet the requirements of communication to serve the People's Committee, the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control at all levels to direct and operate the work of evacuating people, rescuing, searching and rescuing and overcoming the consequences caused by floods. Pay special attention to measures to minimize damage caused by storms and floods in remote areas, areas where flash floods and landslides often occur.

At the conference, the Department of Information and Communications completed the Flood and Storm Prevention Steering Committee of the Information and Communications sector and assigned tasks to members of the Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Steering Committee of the Information and Communications sector.
