Students are delighted with the free meal.
(Baonghean.vn) - At noon on July 4th, after finishing the Math exam, hundreds of students received delicious free meals from...
Coming from a mountainous district in Que Phong, Luong Van Hung, a Thai ethnic minority candidate, had to travel alone by bus to rent accommodation near Vinh University because his parents were busy working in the fields. After the math exam, Hung didn't do well and left the exam site feeling unhappy. Seeing this, two female student volunteers immediately approached him to encourage him to try harder to get high scores in the remaining exams and guided him to the table where he could receive a free meal.
Carrying a steaming hot, fragrant meal of rice and soup along with a bottle of cool water, Hung happily took it back to his rented room to eat and rest. "Going to the exam alone is a bit tough, but being given free, hygienic meals is very comforting, and I will try my best to do well in the remaining exams," Hung confided.
After the math exam ended, many candidates left the exam room feeling hesitant and uncertain about the free meals. However, when volunteers and staff from Vinh University announced the information and provided advice through loudspeakers, many students happily registered to receive the free meals.

Initially, many students were hesitant about receiving free meals, so volunteers had to use loudspeakers to encourage them.
Some volunteers even had to personally go and explain and invite students to receive free meals.
Upon understanding the program's significance, many students came to register for the meals.
Some parents seemed to enjoy the hot meals, along with the sweet soup and drinks.

At the canteen of Vinh University, students and their families receive very attentive service.
At the side gate of Vinh University, many candidates who had just left the examination area were surprised to receive an invitation to have lunch in the school's canteen. Here, volunteers and monks and Buddhist followers from Can Linh Pagoda had prepared 50 tables with a full selection of vegetarian dishes, soup, fruit, refreshing drinks, and cold towels to welcome the candidates and their families. Around 11 am, many tables were already occupied, and the students and their relatives were served attentively in a clean, cool environment, as if they were dining in a fancy restaurant. “At first, when we heard about the free meals, we didn't think they would be very appetizing because we thought it was charity, intended for the poor, but when we came in, it was completely different. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, just like at home, the rice was hot, the soup was sweet, and the many vegetarian dishes were delicious,” shared Mr. Nguyen Duc Han from Yen Thanh district, who brought his daughter to the exam.

The meal included many delicious vegetarian dishes, fruit, drinks, and cold towels.
According to Mr. Le Cong Duc, Director of the Student Support & Business Relations Center at Vinh University, this is the second year that the Vinh University Student Union, the University's Student Association, and the Center have collaborated with businesses and Buddhist temples in the area to organize the "Free Meal - Supporting Students During Exams" program for students in the Vinh exam cluster. During the first exam period in 2013, the program was held at three locations: the main gate of Vinh University, the Vinh University canteen, and the university's second campus in Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district. It is expected that 5,000 free meals will be provided to students and their families during the two university entrance exam periods this year.
