Presenting the Sao Khue Information Technology Awards 2013
On the evening of April 21st, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary and award the Sao Khue 2013 title to outstanding Vietnamese software and information technology products, services, and solutions in 2013.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu Duc Dam, Minister and Head of the Government Office; Mr. Nguyen Bac Son, Minister of Information and Communications; along with representatives from several ministries and agencies; and leaders of software and information technology service businesses nationwide.
Speaking at the commemorative ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son highly appreciated the contributions of the Sao Khue program to the development of Vietnam's software and information technology industry.

Yton.vn, a healthcare social network, is the only Sao Khue product this year to be recognized with the 5-star excellence software award.
From a nascent economic sector with revenue of just over $50 million in 2002, it rose to over $2.3 billion in 2012; with a workforce of hundreds of thousands of highly skilled workers, it has made a significant contribution to the economic development and modernization of the country.
In this new phase, the Ministry of Information and Communications expects and believes that the Sao Khue program will continue to accompany and encourage organizations and individuals to invest more strongly in the development of the country's software and information technology industry. The Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to partner with VINASA as a sponsor of the Sao Khue award program, creating favorable conditions for VINASA to continue organizing this event, so that the Vietnamese information technology industry will have more "Sao Khue" winners, contributing to making Vietnam a strong country in information technology.
Commenting on the 2013 Sao Khue Award program, Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of VINASA, said that this year, Sao Khue has shifted from awarding titles to evaluating and recognizing them.
The Sao Khue Awards have become a specialized "certificate" affirming and honoring the highest quality, excellence, and efficiency of software and information technology service products. The 2013 Sao Khue Awards also saw a significant increase in nominations for products serving the healthcare and education sectors – industries that urgently need innovation and the contribution of information technology applications to improve their capabilities and operational quality. Products utilizing cloud computing also saw a strong increase, demonstrating that Vietnamese businesses are striving to keep pace with global information technology trends.
Based on the results of the on-site evaluation, the Final Selection Council reviewed and decided to award the Sao Khue 2013 title to 48 of the most outstanding software products and 18 information technology services.
Yton.vn, a healthcare social network, is the only Sao Khue award-winning product this year to receive the 5-star superior software award. Built on a social network model, Yton.vn creates a healthcare bridge between citizens and doctors and medical professionals, providing a platform for members to share medical knowledge, information about diseases, and treatment methods online.
