Sao Khue Information Technology Award 2013

On the evening of April 21, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary and awarded the Sao Khue 2013 title to typical Vietnamese software and information technology products, services and solutions in 2013.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu Duc Dam, Minister, Head of the Government Office; Mr. Nguyen Bac Son, Minister of Information and Communications, along with representatives of leaders of a number of ministries, branches; leaders of software and information technology service enterprises nationwide.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son highly appreciated the contributions of the Sao Khue program to the development of Vietnam's software and information technology industry.

From a new economic sector, with a revenue of just over 50 million USD in 2002, by 2012 the revenue had reached over 2.3 billion USD; with a workforce of hundreds of thousands of highly qualified workers, making a significant contribution to the economic development and modernization of the country.

The Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to accompany VINASA in its role as sponsor of the Sao Khue award program, creating favorable conditions for VINASA to continue organizing this event, so that the Vietnamese information technology industry will have more "Sao Khue", contributing to making Vietnam soon become a strong country in information technology.

Evaluating the Sao Khue award program in 2013, Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Vice President and General Secretary of VINASA, said that this year, Sao Khue has made a transition from awarding to evaluating and recognizing the award.

Sao Khue has become a specialized “credit” affirming and honoring the highest quality, superiority, and efficiency of products in the software and information technology services industry. Sao Khue in 2013 also recorded a sharp increase in the number of nominations for products serving the healthcare and education sectors - sectors that are in dire need of innovation and the application of information technology to improve capacity and quality of operations. Products using cloud computing have also increased sharply, showing that Vietnamese enterprises are making efforts to keep up with the technological trends of the world's information technology industry.

Based on the actual evaluation results, the Final Selection Council reviewed and decided to recognize the Sao Khue 2013 title for 48 software products and 18 most typical information technology services.
