Strengthening and enhancing the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos

The Vietnamese National Assembly has proactively responded to the initiative of the Lao National Assembly on the occasion of the Lao National Assembly's 5th session.

During the visit and working session in Laos, on the morning of July 29, Mr. Uong Chu Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly were warmly welcomed by senior leaders of the Lao Party and State.

At the Lao Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong congratulated the success of the working trip of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Mr. Uong Chu Luu; highly appreciated the initiative of the two countries' National Assemblies to organize a seminar on economic management strategies in the fields of finance, currency, banking and credit - a very important field that the two countries are very interested in in the roadmap to join the ASEAN economic community.

The Vietnamese National Assembly has proactively responded to the initiative of the Lao National Assembly on the occasion of the Lao National Assembly's 5th session. Experts in this field have helped the leaders of the National Assembly and the Government of the two countries have a comprehensive view as well as a macro-development strategy on credit management, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos to become more practical and effective.

Mr. Uong Chu Luu highly appreciated the initiative of the Lao National Assembly to proactively propose a very useful workshop for both countries with the deep concern of the leaders of the Lao Party, Government and National Assembly; thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation.

On the same day, at the Lao Presidential Palace, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Vice President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachit warmly welcomed the delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Mr. Uong Chu Luu; congratulated the success of the workshop which brought practical value that the Party, Government and National Assembly of the two countries are interested in.

The Lao Vice President said that after the conference, many opinions on the Lao side highly appreciated the value and quality of the conference. Leading experts in the field of credit, leaders and policy makers had the opportunity to directly discuss and make recommendations as well as share the obstacles and difficulties that need to be resolved. The Lao Vice President congratulated the working trip of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly on achieving good results.

Mr. Uong Chu Luu thanked the Vice President of Laos for taking the time to receive the delegation; reported on the success of the workshop, and highly appreciated the initiative of the Lao National Assembly and its experience in organizing a large workshop, with the full participation of National Assembly delegates and leaders of ministries, branches, and experts of Laos.
