Strengthening and enhancing the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vietnamese National Assembly proactively responded to the initiative of the Lao National Assembly on the occasion of the Lao National Assembly's 5th session.

During his visit and working trip to Laos, on the morning of July 29th, Mr. Uong Chu Luu, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, along with a high-level delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly, were warmly welcomed by senior leaders of the Lao Party and State.

At the Lao Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong congratulated the successful working visit of the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Mr. Uong Chu Luu; and highly appreciated the initiative of the National Assemblies of the two countries in organizing a workshop on economic management strategies in the fields of finance, currency, banking and credit - a very important area that both countries are very interested in in the process of joining the ASEAN Economic Community.

The Vietnamese National Assembly proactively responded to the initiative of the Lao National Assembly during its 5th session. Experts in this field helped the leaders of the National Assemblies and Governments of both countries gain a comprehensive overview and a macro-level development strategy for credit management, contributing to strengthening and enhancing the special Vietnam-Laos relationship in an increasingly practical and effective manner.

Mr. Uong Chu Luu highly appreciated the initiative of the Lao National Assembly in proactively proposing a very beneficial seminar for both countries, with the deep interest of the leaders of the Lao Party, Government and National Assembly; and thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation.

On the same day, at the Presidential Palace of Laos, Politburo member, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee, and Vice President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachit warmly welcomed the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation led by Mr. Uong Chu Luu; congratulating them on the success of the seminar, which brought practical value that the Party, Government, and National Assembly of both countries are interested in.

The Vice President of Laos stated that, following the seminar, there was much public appreciation from the Lao side for the value and quality of the event. Leading experts in the field of credit, as well as leaders and policymakers, had the opportunity to exchange ideas and make direct recommendations, as well as share the obstacles and difficulties that need to be addressed. The Vice President of Laos congratulated the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly on their successful visit.

Mr. Uong Chu Luu thanked the Vice President of Laos for taking the time to receive the delegation; reported on the success of the workshop, and highly appreciated the initiative of the Lao National Assembly along with the experience of organizing a large workshop with the full participation of National Assembly delegates and leaders of ministries, sectors, and experts from Laos.
