The training course started from August 14 to August 18, with the participation of 37 doctors, 7 university nurses, 20 college and intermediate nurses.

The training course is part of the Ministry of Health’s “Disseminating knowledge on treatment and palliative care” program for cancer and HIV/AIDS patients, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO). The lecturers are experts in treatment and palliative care from the Ministry of Health and a WHO volunteer from the UK.

The training program content is taught in accordance with the documents of the World Health Organization. The treatment and palliative care contents cover all aspects of treatment: from physical, psychological, social to spiritual illnesses of terminal cancer patients.

It is known that treatment and palliative care for cancer patients and HIV/AIDS patients have only recently been focused on research and development in the world. In Vietnam, this program has only been implemented for the past 3 years, but has developed rapidly thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Health and the expert and financial assistance of the World Health Organization.
