Tornado and hail hit Da Lat
Although the damage has not yet been quantified, at least dozens of hectares of greenhouses and vegetables and flowers of Da Lat farmers were damaged by the tornado and hail on the afternoon of May 7.
This hailstorm accompanied by a tornado lasted for nearly an hour, sweeping through Ward 8 (Da Lat City). The hailstorm only lasted for about 15 minutes, but it caused many houses with greenhouse areas to collapse and their roofs to be blown off; vegetables and flowers were crushed... and the initial damage was estimated to be up to hundreds of millions of Dong.
Hail has damaged many vegetable areas.
In the Tran Quang Khai street area, rain poured down on the vegetable fields. After the rain, finger-sized rocks were washed away by the water and piled up, some of which were estimated to be dozens of sacks.
Mr. Truong Tan Minh (55 years old, living in Ward 8, Da Lat City), said that he had seen hail many times, but this was the first time in his life that he had witnessed such a hailstorm.
In the Van Kiep lake area, hail also caused severe damage to many greenhouses and vegetable areas.
Currently, Da Lat City authorities will inspect and count the damage to have a direction to support the people.
