The Ministry of Public Security awarded promotion decisions to the rank of General in the first round of 2013.

The Ministry of Public Security recently held a ceremony to announce and present the Prime Minister's decision on the promotion of police leaders and commanders to the rank of General in the first phase of 2013.

On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, General Tran Dai Quang, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Public Security, expressed profound gratitude to the Party, the State, ministries, departments, organizations, and the people for their continuous attention, care, cooperation, and assistance in building a clean and strong People's Public Security force.

Congratulating the comrades promoted to the rank of General in the first phase of 2013, Minister Tran Dai Quang emphasized that the decision to promote senior officers of the People's Public Security Force to the rank of General is a recognition and high appreciation of the Party, State, and people for the great contributions of the People's Public Security Force in the cause of protecting security and order; marking the maturity and development of the People's Public Security Force. This honor and pride belongs not only to the comrades promoted to the rank of General but also to the entire People's Public Security Force.

General Tran Dai Quang urged the comrades promoted to the rank of General this time to continue to uphold the glorious traditions of the heroic People's Public Security Force, cultivate and maintain revolutionary moral qualities, be absolutely loyal to the Party, wholeheartedly serve the Fatherland and the people, and uphold the principles of a General as taught by beloved President Ho Chi Minh: "Intelligence - Courage - Humanity - Trust - Integrity - Loyalty".

Notably, among those promoted to the rank of General this time is Comrade Bui Tuyet Minh, Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Police, the first female officer in the People's Public Security Force to be promoted to the rank of Major General.

Comrade Bui Tuyet Minh was born in 1962, joined the People's Public Security Force and became a reconnaissance soldier at the age of 19.

Starting as a reconnaissance soldier, he was assigned to be the Deputy Head of the External Reconnaissance Team under the Director, Deputy Head of the Staff Department of the Security Command in 1989, then Head of the Political Affairs Department in 1996, Head of the Organization Department in 1999, and Deputy Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Police in 2004.

In June 2011, Comrade Bui Tuyet Minh was appointed Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department by the Ministry of Public Security. Thus, she was also the first woman to hold the position of Deputy Director of Police at the provincial/city level.
