(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 10, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province had a working session with the survey team of the Ethnic Advisory Council. Representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front delegation and a number of relevant departments and branches of Nghe An province attended the conference.
At the meeting, delegates discussed a number of issues related to policies for the Mong ethnic group and the results of implementing Decision No. 18/211/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on policies for prestigious people among ethnic minorities.

Ethnic minorities in Nghe An are distributed in 12 districts and towns, 3 of which benefit from the Government's Program 30a. The Mong ethnic group resides mainly in 3 mountainous districts including Ky Son, Tuong Duong and Que Phong. At the meeting, delegates' opinions focused on clarifying the reasons for Mong people's spontaneous migration and solutions to overcome them. The main reasons are economic difficulties; kinship relationships; conflicts in customs and practices; drug trafficking; limited and inadequate staff quality...

Delegates suggested that the Central Government should pay attention to investing in infrastructure for some communes and villages that do not have roads such as: investing in electricity infrastructure, kindergartens, and transportation, so that people can improve their lives, develop the economy, and reduce poverty. Some items under the Government's Programs 134, 135, and 30a and some priority policies for people in mountainous areas need to be effectively promoted; increasing investment in socio-economic projects, investing in and supporting plant and animal varieties for people in especially difficult areas...
In addition, attention should be paid to arranging jobs for Mong ethnic minority children after they graduate from universities and colleges to create a source of cadres for ethnic minority areas, especially Mong ethnic groups.
