Continue to effectively implement policies for ethnic minority communities.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 10th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a working session with the survey team of the Advisory Council on Ethnic Minorities. Representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and several relevant departments and agencies of Nghe An province also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, delegates discussed several issues related to policies for the Hmong ethnic minority and the results of implementing Decision No. 18/211/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on policies for influential figures among ethnic minorities.

The ethnic minority communities in Nghe An province are distributed across 12 districts and towns, with 3 districts benefiting from the Government's Program 30a. The Mong ethnic group, in particular, mainly resides in the three high-mountain districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong. At the meeting, delegates focused on clarifying the reasons for the Mong people's spontaneous migration and solutions to address it. The main causes included economic difficulties; kinship ties; conflicts in customs and traditions; drug trafficking; and the limited and inadequate quality of officials.

Delegates suggested that the Central Government should pay attention to investing in infrastructure for some communes and villages that do not yet have automobile roads, such as investing in electricity infrastructure, kindergartens, and transportation, so that the people can improve their living standards, develop the economy, and alleviate poverty. Some items under the Government's Programs 134, 135, and 30a, and some preferential policies for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas, need to be effectively implemented; investment in socio-economic projects, and investment and support for plant and animal breeds for people in particularly difficult areas should be increased...
Furthermore, attention should be paid to arranging placements for Hmong children after they graduate from universities and colleges, in order to create a pool of cadres for ethnic minority areas, especially the Hmong people.
