On the afternoon of August 7th, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Cuban Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez for a farewell visit upon the completion of his term of service in Vietnam.

Highly appreciating Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez's contributions to promoting multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that Vietnam and Cuba are two countries with a traditional friendship, a relationship that has been carefully nurtured by generations of high-level leaders of both countries. Over the years, cooperation in various fields between Vietnam and Cuba has achieved positive results, bringing practical benefits to the common development of both countries.

Based on the excellent political and diplomatic relations, and in the spirit of comradeship and brotherhood, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung proposed that the two sides further strengthen cooperation in economics, trade, and investment; and expressed his hope that Cuba would support Vietnamese businesses in seeking investment opportunities in Cuba, especially in telecommunications, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also expressed his desire for the two sides to coordinate their positions and support each other in regional and international forums.

Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez stated that the achievements in multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba are extremely positive; however, the potential and advantages for cooperation between the two countries are still enormous. Cuba wishes to further promote cooperation with Vietnam in various fields, especially those where Vietnam has strengths and Cuba has needs. Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez hoped that Vietnam would continue to share its best practices and successful models with Cuba in managing, building, and developing the country's socio-economic system.

Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez affirmed that, regardless of his future position, he will continue to make positive contributions to fostering the good friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
