Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung receives Cuban Ambassador

On the afternoon of August 7, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Cuban Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez who came to say goodbye at the end of his term in Vietnam.

Appreciating the contributions of Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez in promoting the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that Vietnam and Cuba are two countries with traditional friendship, a relationship that has been nurtured by generations of senior leaders of the two countries. Over the past years, the cooperation in various fields between Vietnam and Cuba has achieved positive results, bringing practical benefits to the common development of both countries.

On the basis of the excellent political and diplomatic relations; in the spirit of comradeship and brotherhood, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung suggested that the two sides further strengthen cooperation activities in economics, trade and investment; hoping that Cuba would support Vietnamese enterprises to seek investment cooperation opportunities in Cuba, especially cooperation in telecommunications, agriculture, infrastructure construction, etc.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also hopes that the two sides will coordinate their stances and support each other at regional and international forums.

Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez said that the results achieved in the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba are very good, however, the potential and advantages of cooperation between the two countries are still very large. Cuba wishes to further promote cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially in the fields where Vietnam has strengths and Cuba has needs. Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez hopes that Vietnam will continue to share good experiences and good models with Cuba in the management, construction and socio-economic development of the country.

Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez affirmed that, in any position, the Ambassador will continue to make positive contributions to fostering the good friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
