(Baonghean) - One of the exemplary role models of Con Cuong district in the movement to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh is Lieutenant Colonel Lo Van Vinh, Party Committee member and Secretary of the Staff Party Branch under the Party Committee of the District Military Command.

Born and raised in Mon Son commune – a homeland with a revolutionary tradition – Lo Van Vinh joined the army in 1982. Currently, he is the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Con Cuong District Military Command. As a soldier of Uncle Ho, he always understands that: performing duties in a local main force unit requires constant combat readiness, maintaining a firm grasp of the political security and social order situation in the area, planning for communes and towns to protect security and order, successfully completing combat exercises, flood and storm prevention exercises, search and rescue exercises, and successfully completing reserve mobilization training throughout the district.

Lieutenant Colonel Lo Van Vinh.

Over the years, Comrade has worked with the District Party Committee and the District Military Command to advise the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee on effectively carrying out local military and national defense work. Following the example of President Ho Chi Minh's moral conduct, Comrade has concretized this in each activity, adapting it to the characteristics of each unit, focusing on weak points and shortcomings to achieve breakthroughs. As a result, the officers and soldiers in the unit have shown a clear transformation in their political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; the working methods and style of officers and soldiers have improved, and the combat strength of the district's armed forces has continuously increased. In addition to his professional duties, Comrade actively participates in agricultural production, building vegetable gardens, and creating a green, clean, and beautiful unit environment. Comrade always takes the lead in cultural, artistic, and sports activities, encouraging comrades to improve their health following President Ho Chi Minh's example to protect the Fatherland. Through his exemplary conduct in studying and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh, and through his affection and work in daily life, he earned the respect of his fellow soldiers in the unit.

Soldier Vi Van Anh said: “Comrade Lo Van Vinh regularly showed concern, reminded, and educated officers and soldiers in the unit to deeply understand the role and responsibilities of cadres and Party members, improve management and command capabilities, and impart work experience of the local armed forces to grassroots cadres. He proposed policies and measures to build a strong and comprehensive unit, and paid special attention to ethnic minority cadres. Although a work-oriented person, he was also very compassionate, always close to the officers and soldiers to understand their thoughts and aspirations, promptly training and guiding those with limited understanding, and encouraging them to strive for improvement.”

For Comrade Lo Van Vinh, learning from and following the moral example of Uncle Ho began with the smallest actions. Therefore, in his daily life, he always lived simply, was approachable, affectionate, and deeply loved his wife and children, caring for his family. As a leader, he always set a good example in concrete actions to serve as a role model for officers and soldiers in his unit, such as implementing the "saving on personal expenses to help those in need" movement and actively encouraging officers and soldiers to participate.

From 2009 to the present, the unit has raised nearly 40 million VND to build a scholarship fund for poor students from ethnic minority groups who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies. Every year, each officer and soldier in the unit voluntarily contributes to the "For the Poor" Fund, the "Gratitude and Repayment" Fund, supports victims of Agent Orange, and supports people affected by natural disasters such as storms and floods. Therefore, they are trusted and respected by the local Party Committee, government, and people. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Dinh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Con Cuong District Military Command, commented: "Regarding studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, Comrade Lo Van Vinh is a very exemplary role model, demonstrated in his work style and daily life. He is not only meticulous in his work at the agency but also very thorough in his family life."

Comrade Lo Van Vinh is a worthy exemplary figure in the movement to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh within the armed forces of Military Region 4. Thanks to his contributions, the Con Cuong District Military Command has been recognized for many consecutive years as a unit that has achieved outstanding results in emulation campaigns, with a clean and strong Party Committee; and has received commendations from the Provincial People's Committee and the Military Region 4 Command. In 2012, he was honored by the Party branch as a Party member who had excellently completed his duties, and was awarded the title of Emulation Soldier by the Military Region 4 Command.
