Learning from Uncle Ho from the smallest things

(Baonghean) - One of the typical examples of Con Cuong district in the movement to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh is Senior Lieutenant Colonel Lo Van Vinh, Party Committee member, Secretary of the staff cell of the Party Committee of the District Military Command.

Born and raised in Mon Son commune - a hometown with a revolutionary tradition, in 1982, Lo Van Vinh joined the army, currently he is the Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Con Cuong District Military Command. As a soldier of Uncle Ho, he always determined: To perform duties in a local main force unit, he must always be ready to fight, manage and grasp the political security situation - social order and safety in the area, have plans for communes and towns to protect security and order, successfully complete combat drills, storm and flood prevention drills, search and rescue drills, and successfully complete reserve mobilization training in the entire district.

Over the years, he and the Party Committee and the District Military Command have advised the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee to do well in local military and defense work. He has concretized the following of Uncle Ho's moral example in each activity, in accordance with the characteristics of each unit, focusing on weak links and weak aspects to make breakthroughs. Thanks to that, the officers and soldiers in the unit have had a clear change in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; the working methods and style of officers and soldiers have been improved, and the fighting strength of the district's armed forces has been constantly enhanced. In addition to professional duties, he actively worked with his comrades to increase production, build vegetable gardens, create green-clean-beautiful campuses and landscapes for the unit. He has always been at the forefront of cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movements, encouraging his comrades to exercise following Uncle Ho's example to protect the Fatherland. Through his exemplary study and following of Uncle Ho's moral example and through his affection and work in daily life, he was respected by his fellow soldiers in the unit.

Soldier Vi Van Anh said: “Comrade Lo Van Vinh is the one who regularly reminds and educates the cadres and soldiers in the unit to deeply understand the roles and responsibilities of cadres and party members, improve management and command capacity, and impart work experience of the local armed forces to the grassroots cadres. He has proposed policies and measures to build a strong and comprehensive unit, especially paying great attention to ethnic minority cadres. As a man of work, he is very emotional, always close to the cadres and soldiers to grasp their thoughts and aspirations, promptly train and guide cadres and soldiers with limited awareness, and encourage them to practice and strive to improve themselves.”

For comrade Lo Van Vinh, learning and following Uncle Ho's moral example starts from the smallest actions. Therefore, in daily life, he always lives simply, is close, full of affection, loves his wife and children, and takes care of family life. As a leader, he is always exemplary in specific actions to set an example for officers and soldiers in the unit such as: implementing the movement of "saving personal expenses to help the poor", actively mobilizing officers and soldiers to participate.

From 2009 to now, the unit has raised nearly 40 million VND to build a scholarship fund for poor students of ethnic minorities who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies. Every year, each officer and soldier in the unit voluntarily supports the Fund "For the Poor", the Fund "Repaying Gratitude", supports victims of Agent Orange, supports people affected by natural disasters and floods, so he is trusted and loved by the Party Committee, the government and the local people. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Dinh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Con Cuong District Military Command, commented: "Regarding studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, comrade Lo Van Vinh is a very exemplary role model, demonstrated in his working style and in his daily activities and lifestyle. Not only is he very considerate towards his work at the agency but he is also very considerate towards his family."

Comrade Lo Van Vinh is a worthy example in the movement of studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh of the armed forces of Military Region 4. Thanks to his contributions, the Con Cuong District Military Command has been recognized for many consecutive years as a unit of Emulation and Determination to Win, a typical clean and strong Party Committee; and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee and the Military Region 4 Command. In 2012, he was honored by the Party cell as a Party member who had excellently completed his tasks, and the Military Region 4 Command awarded him the title of Emulation Fighter.
