The biggest auto show of the year, Vietnam Motor Show 2014, is expected to open its doors to visitors for 4 days from November 20-23 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.

Đây là kỳ triển lãm thứ 2 liên tiếp được tổ chức tại Tp.HCM thay vì luân phiên ra Hà Nội.
This is the second consecutive exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City instead of rotating to Hanoi.

According to early announcements from the organizers, this year’s exhibition, with the theme “passionate reunion”, will feature 16 auto brands. Of these, 9 brands are members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), including Ford, GM, Hino, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Suzuki, Toyota, Vinastar and Daimler Trucks; 7 brands outside of VAMA include Audi, BMW, MINI, Land Rover, Porsche, Nissan and Lexus.

Thus, it can be seen that the number of brands participating in Vietnam Motor Show 2014 has increased compared to last year. After participating for the first time to probe Vietnamese consumers' tastes, the luxury brand Infiniti (owned by Nissan) withdrew from the game.

However, this year's exhibition has the presence of two new brands: MINI (owned by BMW and distributed by Euro Auto) and Daimler Trucks (managed by Mercedes-Benz Vietnam joint venture).

Mr. Jesus Metelo N. Arias Jr, Chairman of VAMA shared, “Our desire is to introduce car models with the latest technological trends, aiming for convenience, environmental friendliness and suitable for the needs of Vietnamese consumers. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to satisfy their passion with breakthrough experiences from superior products of leading brands.”

This is the second consecutive exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City instead of rotating to Hanoi and will likely continue for at least 3 more years due to objective conditions regarding the venue in the capital.
