Sixteen car brands will participate in the Vietnam Motor Show 2014.
The biggest auto show of the year, Vietnam Motor Show 2014, is expected to open to visitors for four days from November 20-23 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.

According to early announcements from the organizers, this year's exhibition, themed "Passion Meets," will feature 16 automotive brands. Of these, 9 brands belong to member manufacturers of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), including Ford, GM, Hino, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Suzuki, Toyota, Vinastar, and Daimler Trucks; and 7 brands are outside VAMA, including Audi, BMW, MINI, Land Rover, Porsche, Nissan, and Lexus.
Thus, it can be seen that the number of brands participating in the Vietnam Motor Show 2014 has increased compared to last year. After its first participation to gauge the tastes of Vietnamese consumers, the luxury brand Infiniti (owned by Nissan) has withdrawn from the competition.
However, this year's exhibition also features two new brands: MINI (owned by BMW and distributed by Euro Auto) and Daimler Trucks (managed by the Mercedes-Benz Vietnam joint venture).
Mr. Jesus Metelo N. Arias Jr., President of VAMA, shared, “Our desire is to introduce car models that reflect the latest technological trends, focusing on convenience, environmental friendliness, and suitability to the needs of Vietnamese consumers. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to indulge their passion with groundbreaking experiences from superior products of leading brands.”
This is the second consecutive exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City instead of alternating to Hanoi, and it is likely to continue for at least another three years due to objective conditions regarding the venue in the capital.
