Thai military detains ousted leader for a week
Thailand's military said on May 24 that ousted government leaders and other prominent political figures recently arrested by the military could be detained for up to a week.
"They could be detained for up to a week depending on how directly involved they are (in Thailand's political crisis)," military spokesman Colonel Winthai Suvaree told a press conference.

Among those detained is the recently ousted former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
Yingluck Shinawatra was arrested after being summoned to appear at the army club on May 23.
Currently, Thai military officials refuse to reveal where Ms. Yingluck is being held and assert that the military needs to organize the country's affairs first./.
