The Thai military detained the ousted leader for a week.

On May 24, the Thai military announced that the ousted government leaders and other prominent political figures recently arrested by the military could be detained for up to a week.

Responding to a press conference, army spokesman Colonel Winthai Suvaree said: "They could be detained for up to a week depending on the extent of their direct involvement (in the political crisis in Thailand)."

Among those detained was the recently ousted former Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra.

Yingluck Shinawatra was arrested after being summoned to report to the army club on May 23.

Thai military officials are currently refusing to disclose where Yingluck is being held, asserting that the military's primary focus is on organizing national affairs.
