(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of January 11th, a burial ceremony for the remains of Vietnamese martyrs, volunteer soldiers, and experts who died in Laos took place at the Do Luong District Martyrs' Cemetery.
Attending the ceremony were a delegation from the Government's Special Task Force and the Ministry of National Defense led by Colonel Tran Quoc Dung - Deputy Director General of the Policy Department - Ministry of National Defense; a delegation from the Lao Government's Special Task Force and the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane led by Comrade Khansavoi Xinthanuxay; a delegation from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee led by Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; a delegation from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; a delegation from the 4th Military Region Command; and provincial departments and agencies, along with leaders of Do Luong district and a large number of people from Da Son commune, Do Luong district.

During this period, Nghe An province received 57 sets of remains of Vietnamese martyrs, volunteer soldiers, and experts who bravely sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and fulfilling their noble international duty in Laos. Of these, 47 sets of remains were found in Xieng Khouang province and 10 sets in Vientiane province. The remains of these martyrs were brought back to Vietnam by the martyrs' grave collection teams in the first phase, during the 2013-2014 dry season.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and the armed forces and people of the province, Mr. Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed his profound respect and boundless gratitude for the contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed themselves to protect the independence and freedom of Vietnam and Laos. He also thanked the leaders and the Special Working Committee of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane provinces, as well as the people of the Lao ethnic groups, for their dedicated cooperation and assistance in helping the Nghe An Provincial Repatriation Team complete its assigned task. The government and people of Nghe An province will continue to uphold and promote the heroic revolutionary traditions, determined to build Nghe An into an increasingly prosperous and strong province; and to further strengthen the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
