Kim Lien (Nam Dan) launched a campaign to prevent and fight forest fires.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 8, the Kim Lien Commune Youth Union (Nam Dan District) coordinated with the militia and self-defense force, the commune police department and the Chung Mountain Protective Forest Management Board to organize a ceremony to launch the 2014 forest fire prevention campaign with the participation of more than 80 people.

Youth union members clear vegetation to prevent forest fires.

The forces have cleared and renewed more than 4 km of firebreaks; treated 40 hectares of vegetation, swept and collected flammable materials from the forest. This is an annual activity to promote the spirit of volunteerism as well as to propagate and raise awareness among youth union members in forest fire prevention, protection and care; especially to prevent the spread of fires, and minimize damage when forest fires occur.
