(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of February 4, 2014 (the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse), at the Temple of Emperor Quang Trung - Dung Quyet Mountain, Vinh City, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory (1789 - 2014).
Attending the event were: Major General Nguyen Chi Huong - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from several provincial departments and agencies; leaders of the Vinh City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, along with a large number of Vinh City residents and tourists from all over the country.

Following the musical program and the Tay Son drum performance, Comrade Nguyen Trung Chau - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee - delivered the opening speech. The speech recalled the glorious traditions of the Tay Son movement, under the leadership of the national hero Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, and one of the most glorious victories in history against foreign invaders: the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory in the swift offensive to repel the Qing invaders in the spring of 1789.
After defeating foreign invaders, Emperor Quang Trung implemented reforms to rebuild the country and chose the Yen Truong and Vinh Yen areas as the capital, known as Phuong Hoang Trung Do, and built the Sung Chinh Library in Nam Hoa commune (now Nam Kim, Nam Dan)... The ceremony aims to commemorate the merits and heroic victories in repelling foreign invaders, and is also an opportunity for future generations to learn more about the history of their ancestors, and to educate them about the patriotism, independence, and self-reliance of our nation.

Following the solemn and respectful opening ceremony, leaders of Military Region 4, Nghe An province, Vinh city, along with a large number of people and tourists, offered incense to Emperor Quang Trung and his parents in the Upper Hall.
Also during the celebration, the organizing committee distributed "Quang Trung Temple Seal Cards". This is a special spiritual activity in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, which began in the Spring of 2014 (Year of the Horse).
