Promoting the strength of national unity

(Baonghean) - Promoting the fine tradition of the Vietnam National United Front, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and its member organizations in the past term have promoted the strength of the great national unity bloc, actively implemented specific action programs, and made important contributions to the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals and tasks.

In recent times, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has strengthened and expanded the great national unity bloc through diversifying forms of mobilization, gathering people, and developing many new member organizations. The activities of the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations are increasingly oriented towards residential areas. The emulation movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province are always closely linked with the patriotic emulation movements launched by the Central and the province.

The campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" continues to be supplemented and innovated in terms of content and implementation methods to suit each type of residential area. During the implementation process, many typical collective and individual examples have emerged demonstrating the strong rise of the residential community in all fields. The campaign "Day for the Poor" has been deployed more and more widely, attracting the attention of the whole society and becoming an activity of profound humanitarian significance, contributing significantly to the work of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and ensuring social security. The Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has promoted the movements of "Repaying gratitude"; implementing the military rear policy; coordinating with the government, organizations, and individuals in humanitarian and charitable activities, helping the unfortunate and those facing difficulties in life. The campaigns to provide relief to compatriots affected by natural disasters have been enthusiastically responded to by people in all parts of the country and overseas Vietnamese. The campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" has been seriously and qualitatively implemented by the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations, contributing to creating significant changes in people's awareness and shopping behavior, and enhancing the responsibility of businesses in producing quality goods to meet domestic consumption and export requirements.

Promoting the people's mastery, organizing and mobilizing people to participate in Party building, building a clean and strong local government and political system, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has launched many campaigns to mobilize people to contribute opinions to draft documents of Party congresses at all levels and resolutions of the Party Central Committee on great national unity. The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations have widely implemented Directive 03 of the Politburo on "Continuing to promote studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" in conjunction with implementing Resolution of the Central Committee 4 (term XI) "Some urgent issues on Party building at present" with many rich and practical contents, attracting many union members, association members and people to enthusiastically implement. Through that, the ideology of great national solidarity of Uncle Ho and our Party is increasingly permeated in the thoughts and feelings of all classes of people, creating an important driving force to promote the awareness of building and promoting the strength of great national solidarity.

The Front's people's foreign affairs activities have been expanded, international solidarity has been strengthened. Creating a favorable environment for international and domestic friends, Nghe An children at home and abroad to visit their homeland and learn about investment opportunities; participating in mobilizing resources from friendly countries around the world to cooperate and support the cause of building the homeland.

In addition to the achieved results, it must be seen that these successes are not yet commensurate with the position, role, functions, tasks and advantages of the Fatherland Front of Nghe An province. The work of the Fatherland Front in some bases and residential areas is not uniform, the awareness of the cause of great national unity, the position and role of the Front among a part of cadres, party members and people is not adequate. The coordination and unified action with the government and member organizations in some places is not regular. The work of mobilizing and building a model of economic restructuring is still slow. The effectiveness of propaganda, dissemination and education of laws, policies of the Party and State to all classes of people is not high, the supervision work of the Fatherland Front is sometimes not timely and lacks synchronization. The activities of the Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations are still formal in some places. The role of a bridge between the people and the Party and the government has some aspects that have not met the requirements; There are legitimate and legal aspirations and recommendations of the people that have not been fully reflected or have not been closely coordinated with the government to resolve in a timely manner. Patriotic emulation movements and campaigns still lack close coordination, so there are overlaps and duplications.

Currently, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An are striving to successfully implement the goals of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress (term 2010-2015) and actively implement Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo (term XI) on the direction and tasks of developing Nghe An province until 2020. The requirement for the Provincial Fatherland Front in the new term is to continue to promote gathering and building the great national unity bloc, creating high consensus and unity in political ideology, striving to build Nghe An into a fairly prosperous province in the Northern region.

To fulfill that requirement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front as well as all member organizations need to continue to innovate their awareness, innovate their organization, content and methods of operation to suit the new situation and tasks:

Firstly, the Fatherland Front at all levels needs to consolidate, strengthen and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc; further promote coordination with member organizations, gather all classes of people, especially the working class, farmers, intellectuals, enterprises, businessmen, dignitaries, religious officials, village elders, village chiefs, and typical people of ethnic groups to propagate and educate cadres, union members, association members and all classes of people to correctly and fully understand the meaning and importance of Ho Chi Minh's thought and the Party's viewpoints on great national unity. We must take the goal of maintaining national independence associated with socialism for "A rich people, a strong country, a democratic, equitable and civilized society" as a common point to implement democracy associated with discipline in gathering the strength of great unity, promoting the will of self-reliance, self-strengthening and mettle for the people in the renovation process.

Second, continue to promote campaigns and patriotic emulation movements to successfully implement the goals of socio-economic development, national defense and security and people's foreign affairs, and strengthen friendly relations with the people of Lao ethnic groups. Focus on improving the quality of studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh; the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; the campaign "Day for the Poor", "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods"; coordinate the implementation and organize the implementation of the general review program of regimes and policies for people with revolutionary contributions; mobilize people to get rich legally, build cultural residential areas, cultural families, fight against crimes and social evils, maintain environmental sanitation; build self-governing communities in residential areas based on village conventions and regulations in accordance with traditional values ​​and the law.

Third, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations need to pay attention to mobilizing and creating conditions for people to promote democracy, participate in Party building, build a strong government, especially well implement the Central Resolution 4 (11th tenure) "Some urgent issues on Party building at present" and the function of supervision and social criticism in the spirit of Decision No. 217 and Decision No. 218 of the Politburo (11th tenure). Well implement the grassroots democracy regulations, practice thrift, fight against corruption and waste, participate in resolving complaints, denunciations and reconciling conflicts among the people. Improve the quality of activities of the People's Inspection Committee and the Community Investment Supervision Committee. Innovate and improve the quality of voter contact with National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels; fully collect and promptly reflect the legitimate and legal recommendations of the people; well perform the role of a bridge between the people and the Party Committee and the government.

Fourth, it is necessary to innovate the working methods, style, manners and methods of those doing Front work; attach importance to the work of planning and training cadres, improve the quality of training and professional development for the cadres doing Front work, especially grassroots cadres; strengthen and expand the team of collaborators, form advisory councils and advisory boards, widely gather a team of scientists, experts and prestigious people associated with improving the effectiveness of emulation and reward work, promptly summarizing, drawing experience, and replicating typical examples in all fields of work to perform tasks well.
